It is a very good experience to have a vacation after a two-week long summer school. Here we are, right arriving at this peaceful pretty town, santa barbaba!

It is said that SB is one of the best places for a vacation, not only because it is beside both the sea and mountain, but also it is a really relaxing and lovely town. When we first got to the Country Inn, the hotel we ordered before, I began to love this romantic hotel as soon as I entered it. All the circumstance is designed just for lovers and couples. I like the  furnishing in the bed room; I like the decoration in the lobby; I like the whole feeling I have here.

We, my dear girl and I, spent three whole days in this town. Just after the lunch, we found that the best beach in Santa Barbara is only five minutes walk away from our hotel. It is so convenient that our rented car became useless!  Walking along the sidewalk after dinner is a very enjoyable thing. The seagulls are flying around the body, the spindrifts are impacting the modena rocks, the sea wind is breezing the peaceful sea surface, and the whole body together with heart and soul are being totally released from all the pressures in work and life. The sailing boats can be seen everywhere near the harbor. It must be an unforgettable experience if we can sailing a boat in the Pacific ocean. So we tried to rent a boat from the harbor administrator. Unfortunately, if you don't know how to operate a sail boat, they have to assign a captain to you. Yeah, a captain. Can you imagine it? I just thought it must be an amiable old gentleman with white beard. Anyway, renting a sail boat is quite cheap, but renting a sail boat together with a captain is unbelievably expensive. And this even doesn't include the gratuity for the captain. If you don't care about the money, there is another choice, the jet boat, which doesn't need any skill. At the same time, the price doesn't need any consideration: 200$/hour...... It is a pity that we are not so rich to afford this kind of expense. So we just spent most of the time on the beach.

It is also very fun to stay on the beach. Some people are fishing, some people are surfing, some people are just swimming on the wave. Concerning about us, we just outspread a big beach tower, slept on it and enjoyed the sunlight. Sun block must be used before we can enjoy the sunlight, because it is so intense. I was just hurt on my shoulder because it is not well covered by sun block. When we felt very warm, we just got up and rushed into the sea water to have a swim, or just stood in the water and let waves pass though our bodies. Oh, what an unforgettable feeling!

The down town of SB is kind of European country style, I like it and hope to go to Europe to enjoy the real feeling. Also, we went to some Danmark town named Solvang. This town doesn't leave me very good memories. The only thing I want to say about this town is that my dear wife is so capable. She drove the car for 40 miles along 101 road and took us there. Is it wonderful, baby?

I will surely go to have such a vacation again. Maybe, Hawaii will be our next destination. Let's be ready and go!
